Getting Started with myPotential
myPotential helps you follow the CHOP Modified Dallas POTS Protocol — one calm screen at a time.
How the protocol works
The protocol spans 8 months and 224 sessions, progressing through phases from recumbent exercise to upright cardio and strength training. myPotential schedules the right session for each day so you don't have to track it yourself.
What you'll need
- iPhone — myPotential runs on iOS.
- Heart rate sensor — Apple Watch, AirPods Pro, or any Bluetooth heart rate strap.
- Comfortable workout space — Some sessions need a recumbent bike or similar equipment.
Starting your first session
- Open myPotential. The app shows today's session on the home screen.
- Connect your heart rate sensor before starting.
- Follow the on-screen guidance — the app tells you which exercise, for how long, and at what intensity.
- Stay in zone. myPotential gives a gentle haptic and voice cue if your heart rate drifts outside the target zone.
- When the session ends, it's recorded automatically.
Missing a day
If you miss a session, myPotential's makeup logic handles scheduling without judgement. You won't lose progress, and the next session picks up where you should be.
